Circling Back on Two Old Stories

Remember my comments about Alex Fish (D-FL) …  She of …  we need immigration reform because we need Mexicans to do the laundry and mow the lawn  ???  She lost her election bid in a landslide this week to an unknown and under-funded Republican.  She ran on a “Fix ObamaCare” platform…  while simultaneously increasing the population of Mexican laundry and landscape workers.  :)))

Her opponent ran on a “Repeal ObamaCare” platform and believed illegal means …  uh… illegal.  He was able to convince voters in FL that enforcing current immigration law is not the same as “hating” Hispanics… and that ObamaCare is a really bad idea.  He did not say whether he has a Mexican landscaper…  CNN is working hard on that story now – I am certain.

I did another commentary last week about Rep. Sheila Lee Jackson (D-TX)She of the 400-year old Constitution infamy…  She should serve as a reminder and renewed impetus for term limits and a return to the days of Citizen Representation.

No more “careers” in Congress and life-time pensions and Health Care coverage (ObamaCare does not apply to them).  Any American should be allowed two terms before a mandatory return trip to the real world.  The problem for most in Congress today is that they are incapable of working in the real world.  I am willing to bet that few possess employable skills.  That, I am happy to remind them, is easily remedied… they can enroll in one of the many “Job Training” programs they’ve created.   I love simple solutions.

That’s all for now.

More Deep Thoughts by Democrats…

I love this kind of stuff!

Were the following statement made by a Republican it’d make the national news and take up hours on CNN and MSNBC.  But the speaker is a Democrat and there is, as we know, a different standard for expertise and competence.

So let me ask you…  Are you expert and competent in your job?  Is that not what your customers, teammates and employees expect?  Is that not what they pay you for?  Should it not therefore follow that those in politics should also be expert and competent in their chosen field?  Apparently not…

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) today declared on the House floor that the U.S. Constitution was 400 years old.  Her exact words…

“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not.”

Makes you wonder if she has ever actually read it.  For those of you who have not read it I suggest you do.  It is a quick read unlike the 2,000 page ObamaCare act.  It fits nicely on the front and back of one 8 X 11 piece of paper.

For those of you who have read it… and noticed the date inscribed therein … Ms. Lee is only off by 173 years.

Ms. Lee…  For the record the Constitution is 227 years old and was adopted on Sep. 17, 1787.  You should at least know that much since you claim the title and pay of… Congresswomen.

Attached – for Ms Lee if she is reading this :)))

More Deep Democrat Thoughts… And Please Withhold My Name…

Please read the Letter to the Editor below submitted in North Carolina.  Yes it is real.  My favorite part of the Letter is the part that begins“Now that we Democrats are in charge…”

If the letter weren’t so scary, it would be funny and arguably, precious.  The kind of thing an eleven year old might write.  But judging by the words and the tone, this is not an 11-year old…  this person actually votes.

God, save us.  And now that they are in charge, we can expect a lot more of this deep thinking.  As I said, at least we know what we are up against.  And as a famous man once said, Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.”

Buenos Dias Amigos

If you are Hispanic, and you are wondering why you are important to the Democrats in the immigration “debate” (I use that word with a sense of irony  :))  …  something the liberal mind does not register), then read the following…

“Immigration reform is important in our country . . . for obvious reasons, because we have a lot of employers over in the beaches who rely upon workers who, especially in this high-growth environment, where are you going to get people to work to clean our hotel rooms or do our landscaping?”

 – Florida Democrat Alex Sink

So just to be clear…  you are important to the Democrats because they need you to mow the lawn, do the laundry, and most importantly…  vote for them.

CODA: Success and Failure

If failure and success are two sides of the same coin, and learning from failure is essential and integral to success, then what is going on in Massachusetts?

You may be aware of the following but until last week when I was in Boston talking with a client, I had never run across this…  Parents signing their children up for Little League have the option of selecting a “scoring” or “non-scoring” league.  For those of you unfamiliar, “non-scoring” means NO ONE KEEPS SCORE at the game.

Really”, I said?  And then I added, “Wow, they must have a terrible time getting enough signups for the ‘non-scoring’ league”.

Nope.  They can’t get enough signups to form one scoring league!

Sigh…  So in making sure the little ones never fail, the parents have made it likely that they will never know success.   And we adults shake our heads at the lack of work ethic and energy in the younger generation.

I blame the teachers here – the parents.  Especially those who take seriously an idea like a “non-scoring” Little League.

Success and Failure

Success is often the product of failure.  So says Megan Mc Cardle in her book titled “The Upside of Down”.  Her research suggests that how you fail matters.  And this is where it gets interesting.  Her research showed that how is different for conservatives and liberals who think differently about success and failure.  Conservative thinkers emphasized the link between personal effort and success, while liberal thinkers emphasized random events and structural factors as the reason some succeed while others failed.

Let that thought sink in…  It perfectly explains the liberal mind.  For them, failure (not being rich let’s say) has little to do with personal choices and everything to do with bad luck and a biased and rigged “system”.  This explains the liberal’s need for a nanny Welfare State.  They need it to do away with bad luck and to ensure success.

Now permit me to make a leap…  There have been four great revolutions since the American Revolution in 1776…  in France, Mexico, Russia, and China.  All these dissolved into socialist or socialist-like messes.  Why?  Because only in the American did the idea take hold that an individual had the right to make the most of his efforts (as he saw fit) in the pursuit of happiness and success.  Today’s “liberal” thinking is eroding that central idea in favor of a collective socialist determinism.

Want to know what socialism looks like?  Look at the picture below from the front page of yesterday’s Wall Street Journal.  It is a picture of socialism.  It is a picture of failure.  In this case brought to you by that darling of Hollywood – the thug Hugo Chavez.  This is what we want – controlled corruption by the 1% that puts the 99% on the breadline?  It’s not the “road to success”.  But judging by the current ascendancy of liberal thinking, it’s going to be a long road back to conservative common sense thinking about success and failure.  But at least now I feel like I know what I am up against.

Keep the faith.  Peace out :)Screen Shot 2014-02-28 at 10.30.20 PM

Judge and Jury

I caught a snippet of the CNN coverage of the Chris Christie “story” while walking through the airport an hour ago…   the reporter assured “us”  that CNN was “pouring over and scouring” housands of pages of documents to give “you” the whole story”…

Have you seen any such “pouring and scouring” on Benghazi?   Health Care?  Afghanistan and Iraq disasters?  Gates on Obama?  IRS Scandal?  Drones?

Anyone?  Anyone?

Of course not…  The goal is not to enlighten or report a story…  the goal is to destroy Hillary’s competition while burying her skeletons.

I am not condoning any poor behavior by this governor or any other.   I am asking why is  there a different standard when it comes to reporting the behavior of the political left and the political right?

Doesn’t seem fair does it?  Isn’t the media great?

Judge and jury on their own terms.

2014 News and Predictions

It is now legal for illegal aliens to practice law in the State of CA…  and your transgender kindergarten child can use the restroom and locker room consistent with their new gender.  No…  you can’t even make this stuff up it’s so dopey.  My only regret is that I could not have chosen to join the girl’s volleyball team and dress in their locker room when I was in High School.

CNN does a “sob story” on a 25-year old single mother of two (two separate fathers and on government assistance) who can’t “make it” on her $11 per hour WalMart wage.  WalMart should pay her $15 per hour.  No mention of the choices she made:  Having children outside of marriage at a young age.  Not finishing High School and won’t go back because she will be too old when she “graduates”.  WalMart should just pay her more.  She makes no mention what extra “value” she brings to her employer for the additional money she “deserves”.  Yes this is a sob story but not in the sad victim way CNN promotes it.  It is a crying shame that such people willingly and consciously use this ploy to reject personal responsibility for their lives and the choices they make.

We will see lots more of this in 2014 news stories.  In addition we will be told that…

  • ObamaCare is a great success
  • Hillary Clinton was a hero at Benghazi
  • Iran is a nation of peace
  • Nothing is happening in Afghanistan to our military
  • Republicans want to see 25-year old single parents in the streets starving

Yes…  all true…  the media would not report it were it not true.

The Miracle of Green

Yesterday the President of the power company sent me a letter.  You can read it below…

Isn’t CA and green energy great?  This is what you get when you have the world’s greatest concentration of flat earth Luddites on the planet – in the persons of the oh so virtuous anti-nukes, 99%’ers, and Sierra Club and Surf Rider eco-nazis…

You get to spend more when they phase out coal and nuclear energies.  Why??   Because there is simply not enough SOLAR OR WIND energy being produced (nor will there ever be) and because the means to distribute it are not in place.

So no supply and high demand equals….  class??  anyone??  anyone???   Higher prices you morons…

Are we all happy now?   Am living in another dimension – even the damn French make nuclear power work everyday.
Jeez…
I’m movin’

The Letter.  Click on the link, then click on it one more time and it will open up the letter.  Yes there may be an easier way but I am computer graphically challenged.

PRESS PASS: EVERYTHING

I have not written anything in a long while.

Reason?
I have watched every scandal from Benghazi to the IRS knowing as I predicted
that no news outlet would spend a minute on any of it holding Obama
accountable for any of part it.
It’s PRESS PASS on everything.
If this were G Bush – the coverage of these events would be treated exactly the same – right?
It all seems surreal and as if we are in an alternative Universe.  So I could not pass up this opportunity to illustrate this…
DOMA: Bill, Hillary Clinton release statement thanking people for undoing Bill’s marriage law

Bill and Hillary Clinton have just released a statement thanking a bunch of people for working to undo what Bill Clinton did when he signed the Defense of Marriage Act.

Click here to read the entire article.

It takes special people – the voters of the US – to be entirely OK with these kind of people.  I don’t care about gay marriage.  I care about character and integrity.
Our leaders and certainly our Press lack these fundamental attributes in spades.
I write as do many others and we change nothing.
But once you discard these attributes – the trip to the bottom is unavoidable.
